Requirements

Expertise in VFX assets, look development, and/or effects (depending on assigned body of work)
Knowledge of VFX pipelines, methodologies, tools, and workflows (including ILM's global tools and processes like LDAC/Sing/3PP)
Leadership experience in show crewing, team management, and artist supervision
Strong communication skills for collaborating with VFX Supervisor, Producer, DPS, FX Supervisor, clients, and global teams
Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and production plans to deliver on time and on budget
Hands-on VFX shot production skills for occasional artist work
Availability for full-time employment in Mumbai, India

Responsibilities

Serve as “right hand” to VFX Supervisor on assigned show regarding show leadership, methodology, crewing, and client management as needed
Oversee a body of work on a show (e.g., outsourced work, ILM Singapore, split sequences)
Collaborate with Producer and show leadership to deliver the show on time and on budget
In conjunction with VFX Supervisor and Producer, set up show including pipeline and methodology decisions, in concert with the DPS
Work with Producer to assign and cast crew to the show
Maintain constant communication with VFX Supervisor on location to understand set progress and changes affecting body of work
Start early shot production, overseeing asset build, look development, and/or effects development while principal photography is in progress
Lead crew when VFX Supervisor is on location
Serve as key creative in bid meetings
Develop methodology and approach to show for efficiency and within budget, determining work distribution (e.g., LDAC/Sing/3PP)
Cover 2nd unit or relieve VFX Supervisor on location as needed
Drive the look of assets and/or effects based on expertise
Supervise assigned body of work with input from FX Supervisor and provide feedback to artists
In conjunction with VFX Supervisor and Producer, develop and execute production plan
Present VFX work to clients on occasion with VFX Supervisor approval and guidance
Perform hands-on shot work on show as required
