Requirements

Ability to perform advanced characterization of complex injectable drugs, including proteins & peptides, oligonucleotides, iron formulations, carbohydrates & other biomolecular APIs and various impurities in lyophilized, liquid, emulsions & other formulations following GLP norms
Willingness to travel to external facilities (CROs, academic institutes & other sites) as required
Subject matter expertise to overcome technical challenges in product development and liaise with cross-functional teams
Understanding of projects with guidance from Sub-department Manager and ability to follow instructions
Knowledge of approved SOPs, ALCOA++ principles, current pharmacopoeia, Good Documentation Practices & Good Laboratory Practices
Ability to operate, calibrate, perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on instruments per SOPs
Completion of training as per quality matrix targets

Responsibilities

Execute advanced characterization studies including Method Development, Method Qualification, Sameness Study and Routine Analysis of complex injectables
Provide analytical support to Baxter Global and Baxter’s Contract manufacturing sites
Manage outsourced studies at CROs, academic institutes & other external facilities, including study design, execution, analysis and report preparation
Demonstrate subject matter expertise and assist formulation and cross-functional teams
Assist in procurement activities: review quotations, engage suppliers, procure goods & services in a timebound manner, verify materials received
Complete planned work in stipulated time frame, inform Sub-department Manager of deviations or issues, track activities related to product analysis and development
Carry out testing and data recording according to approved SOPs/ALCOA++ and pharmacopoeia; record in ELN and sign off on time
Verify shelf life of chemicals/reagents before analysis; investigate deviations/abnormalities and report to Sub-department Manager
Check trends of results before reporting; report daily work status to Sub-department Manager
Undertake instrument operation, calibration, preventive and breakdown maintenance per SOPs and report conclusions
List and track study resources/routine requirements, ensure timely procurement
Prepare and update SOPs; prepare method development and verification reports
Perform work as allocated by Sub-department Manager and liaise with customs
