4+ years of experience with BS degree in a related scientific discipline OR 2+ years of experience with MS degree in a related scientific discipline

Responsibilities

Optimize and carry out various cell-based virology assays for discovery and preclinical evaluation of antiviral therapeutics, including biologics and small molecules
Plan and execute assigned experiments that support research activities and project goals
Interpret results, proactively troubleshooting technical issues and recommending potential solutions based on personal observations and/or literature searches
Select appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments
Participate in cross-functional group meetings and present results
Work closely with senior personnel as well as independently
Independently plan and execute assigned experiments that support routine research activities and project goals
Demonstrate and apply advanced level of understanding of project goals and methods
Collaborate with supervisory personnel to develop routine research methods
Recommend alternatives, research new methods and techniques, and proactively seek out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems
Participate in group meetings, present results of work, interpret data, and draw conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work
Work with minimal supervision on projects of moderate to complex scope
Use good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to provide insight into the processes used to achieve results of assigned tasks
Develop skills in data analysis and ability to evaluate quality of data
