Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility
  • A self-starter who has demonstrated problem solving, ideation, creativity, and investigative skills
  • Enjoys working in a hands-on, maker space environment with prototype and machine shop equipment
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods and environments
  • Prior experience with technical project management practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong grasp of mechanical drawings, GD&T, and detailed schematics
  • Experience with Solidworks/Fusion 360 or other CAD
  • A collaborative mindset with clear communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for continuous improvement and driving real results
  • Passion for additive manufacturing, and experience with 3D printers

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes using best practices
  • Drive cost saving initiatives through smarter process design and methods
  • Assist on facility layout to improve efficiency and flow of facility
  • Validate routings assumptions and cost standards for financial measurement
  • Identify new internal manufacturing opportunities
  • Coordinate pilot projects to validate new equipment
  • Successfully document new processes and ensure successful transitions to other departments
  • Generate production level documentation (WIs / SOPs / ECOs) to a high technical standard
  • Develop user friendly mechanical methods to reduce setup time, change over, load and unload times using innovative technology and mistake proofing
  • Design and build out process to validate material specifications, critical-to-quality (CTQ) functional requirements, and full system performance
  • Allow operators to conduct highest value work possible by systematically identifying, prioritizing and eliminating any non-value added steps that can be addressed through improved equipment design or process improvement
  • Relentlessly utilize additive Manufacturing principles to make the life of the operator better
