Requirements

  • Native-level Japanese proficiency, including vocabulary, specialized terminology, correct syntax, grammar, and spelling
  • Business advanced English proficiency (Writing, Speaking)
  • Minimum 2 years of professional work experience
  • Ability to proofread, edit, and verify formatting of content in at least 2 languages, including native language

Responsibilities

  • Check various language content related to clinical development and medical fields to confirm no design errors; track omissions, inaccuracies, and visibility errors from OCR, translation, and DTP work
  • Correct, delete, add, or format parts of content to prepare source content for translation; review post-translation content for appropriateness and deliver to clients
  • Collaborate with translation service team members and external resources to provide high-level service
  • Coordinate work of multiple content/design specialists as needed to meet project requirements
  • Work closely with Associate Director, Operational Excellence department head, project managers, and internal/external stakeholders as needed
  • Realize commitment to translation effectiveness for stakeholders and clients
  • Check content in one or more target languages to discover design issues according to guidelines and source content requirements
  • Analyze accuracy and usability issues to eliminate risks, meeting quality requirements and deadlines
  • Collaborate with project managers to collect nature and number of quality issues for integration into performance metrics and trend analysis
  • Act as bridge between project managers, coordinating with reviewers and post-editors as needed to resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Ensure identified issues are correctly defined and clearly explained, communicating to responsible project managers and language specialists to improve their performance and engagement
  • Support content design specialists as needed, coordinating to make projects time- and cost-effective
  • Collaborate with Associate Director and Operational Excellence department head to document main quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement of QC and QA processes in the translation supply chain
