Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish and English), preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with computer applications
  • Student in their final year of university education, preferred
  • Pursuing a degree/career in education or social services role, preferred
  • Background working with students in a support service role
  • Experience working in a high school setting
  • Valid CA driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Meet with students on caseload on a regular basis on-site, with opportunities to do so virtually and over the phone
  • Address academic challenges by providing guidance, tutoring, and/or referral to tutoring services
  • Troubleshoot challenges inside and outside of the classroom through coaching, mentorship, and referral to appropriate services, including counseling and student stress support
  • Facilitate workshops on various topics, including time management and study skills
  • Maintain case notes and update data for students
  • Contact parents regarding student-related matters
  • Coordinate events such as study sessions
  • Occasionally support students and events at additional sites other than primary school
  • Other duties as assigned
