Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a similar Engineering Field, along with 5 or more years of experience working with transportation agencies such as Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable organizations. An Illinois PE license is preferred, and familiarity with GPS is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Resident Engineer will coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders to ensure project success, analyze applicable codes and standards for compliance, perform field inspections of Road and Bridge Construction, measure and report installed quantities, monitor materials sampling and testing schedules, monitor and analyze contractor’s progress, maintain various reports, and lead inspection teams.
