Requirements

Experience in smooth operation and maintenance of plant and utilities automation activities
Knowledge of effective maintenance practices, spares management, budget control, equipment redundancy, and equipment qualification
Ability to build education and capability for a team of technicians
Leadership skills for managing and leading contractors, vendors, and service providers
Expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for utilities events related to automation and instrumentation
Proficiency in calibration of instruments, process validation for HVAC and utilities
Understanding of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and investigation support
Knowledge of automation maintenance compliance, software validation (FAT, SAT, Commissioning, Validation VCR, IQ), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Capability to develop and execute training and capability development plans for technicians
Commitment to high safety, health, and environment standards
Willingness to travel 25% of the time and handle continuous sitting for prolonged periods

Responsibilities

Ensure maximum availability of utilities equipment and trouble-free operation
Manage availability of spares/consumables and inventory to meet critical maintenance requirements
Control and track budget with justification; initiate and implement cost reduction measures
Ensure 100% compliance for calibration of instruments with process validation for HVAC and utilities
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for utilities events pertaining to automation and instrumentation
Perform maintenance (corrective, preventive, predictive) and provide troubleshooting/investigation support for utilities
Ensure routine compliance of automation maintenance activities and adherence to Abbott Safety/Environment standards and regulations
Manage and lead contractors, vendors, and service providers for maintenance works
Lead continuous improvement efforts/projects and support execution of software validation and automation qualification (FAT, SAT, Commissioning, Validation VCR, IQ)
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement maintenance programs for utilities
Ensure automation team is fully trained in appropriate SOPs and develop/execute capability development plans
Ensure high safety, health, and environment standards in all engineering operations, including for external vendors/contractors
Review and approve documentation, procedures, and site change control processes in consultation with Engineering Manager
Lead and execute automation improvement projects at site
Promote safe work culture among the team
