Responsibilities

  • Design and execute engagement strategy to connect >70% of Jewish students at SDSU to Hillel’s mission
  • Supervise, mentor, and support growth of 2 staff members
  • Execute robust social media presence for Hillel of San Diego
  • Manage state-of-the-art facility for smooth operations supporting Jewish life
  • Maintain and balance program and operations budget for SDSU
  • Staff Shabbat and holiday programming, oversee logistics, and facilitate Jewish learning
  • Serve as thought partner with Executive Director and other campus directors
  • Build relationships with university staff and faculty for partnerships
  • Connect with students to increase involvement in Jewish life
  • Lead weekly staff meetings and 1:1 supervision
  • Support staff hiring process and training
  • Participate in ongoing Jewish learning and professional development
  • Help plan alternative breaks and Taglit-Birthright Israel, including pre- and post-trip programs
  • Oversee collection of engagement data with Hillel International
  • Handle facility logistics like external rentals and maintenance scheduling
