Requirements

3+ years of experience in commercial asphalt or paving construction (streets, parking lots, roadway paving, or highway work)
Strong understanding of paving operations, sequencing, materials, and equipment
Ability to read construction plans and specifications
Proficient communication and organizational skills
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, project tracking tools, etc.)
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
Preferred Qualifications
VDOT experience (inspection standards, spec familiarity, roadway construction processes, etc.)
Experience interacting with inspectors, municipalities, or DOT representatives
Ability to troubleshoot field issues and assist with crew coordination

Responsibilities

Assist in managing day-to-day operations across asphalt paving projects such as streets, parking lots, roadways, and highway work
Support scheduling, planning, and coordination of crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment
Work closely with senior project managers and superintendents to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
Monitor project progress and help resolve issues related to safety, quality, or production
Help prepare project documentation including daily reports, quantity tracking, and cost updates
Communicate with clients, inspectors, and internal teams to ensure expectations are met
Uphold strict compliance with safety procedures, site standards, and relevant regulations
