High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility in branch retail sales or branch/production operations
Prior experience with sales and/or operations in the distribution industry preferred
Prior SAP experience required
Proficient working knowledge of (incomplete in description, but implied systems/tools like SAP, BW, SharePoint)

Responsibilities

Assist the Area Vice President by supporting efforts to improve safety, profitability, effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency of Area Branch operations
Provide analytics, evaluation, and reporting of Branch metrics and pricing initiatives
Support Area Branch locations with ongoing SAP, vendor, and product training
Assist and support District Managers (DMs) and Branch associates in complying with Safety Management Systems in conjunction with the Regional Safety Department
Support Branches on the execution of Accident and Injury Reduction Plans consistent with Airgas Safety Council and Safecor guidelines
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Manual, Safety Management System, SAP processes, Business Warehouse (BW) tools, and SharePoint tools; provide support to branch leaders to improve understanding and use
Provide training and conduct audits on SOPs; share results with DMs, Branch associates, and AVPs; follow up by measuring progress and communicating with AVP and DM
Support ensuring new employees at branches receive appropriate training on systems, procedures, and processes
Assist in sharing SAP enhancements, changes, corrections, reports, and communications from functional leaders with appropriate associates; participate in cascading information from regional or corporate leadership (e.g., policy changes, roll-outs, new products, safety compliance)
Support execution of Airgas’s Core Strategy I and II activities in Branches and throughout the Area
Assist AVP and DMs by compiling branch metrics, identifying results, communicating them, and sharing best practices across assigned branches
Communicate routinely with AVP regarding progress, obstacles, issues, and process improvement suggestions at branches; communicate with leadership on ineffective or poor processes affecting accuracy
Assist Area leaders in improving transactional accuracy and SAP proficiency
Support effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration between branch associates, field sales teams, Sales Specialists, and Business Service Center (BSC) associates
Conduct routine visits to Branches to identify and evaluate performance, safety compliance, inventory levels, SOP compliance, and training gaps
Other projects/initiatives as assigned
Frequent area travel (50%), minimal overnights
