  • Capable of ensuring adherence to applicable PG&E Procedures and Standards for self and overseen contractors

Responsibilities

  • Provide field oversight support for the Natural Resources Management (NRM) Systemwide Program on the Defensible Space team
  • Perform inspections of routine vegetation control and maintenance around facilities, including assessments and oversight of brushing, string trimming, pesticide applications, and tree removals near PG&E assets
  • Complete desktop reviews of assigned inspection areas
  • Field collect spatial data within the approved GIS platform
  • Complete inspection reports including clear, concise narrative descriptions of current road conditions, suggested or prescribed work, photos, and maps
  • Oversee contractors performing construction and/or maintenance work
  • Conduct safety engagements and report any safety hazards, concerns, or conditions of nonconformance
  • Project setup, implementation, and management
  • Develop project scope of work, coordinate with agencies, and procure pricing from vendors
  • Inspect for vegetation needs that promote safe access, safe operations, maintenance, and fuel reduction
  • Assess, identify, map, and mark trees that are dead, dying, hazardous, or operational conflicts for removal
  • Conduct required environmental review and provide professional advice for required protection measures on site
  • Provide onsite supervision of crews performing vegetation control and property management work, including supervision and oversight of project execution and contractor safety performance
  • Provide professional guidance to crews and maintain compliance with laws, regulations, permits, and ERTCs
  • Observe and report on crew progress, safety issues, resources used and hours worked, effectiveness of applications or treatments performed at various sites, and environmental impacts
  • Collect data of work performed by the crew and update electronic database
  • Consult with PG&E personnel to resolve any environmental, customer, or project specific issues
  • Confirm that projects have proper environmental permits or documents
  • Consult with agencies regarding permitting, required notifications, meetings, and other project specific requirements
  • Oversee projects to ensure the scope of work is complete
