Requirements

  • Skiing assessment equivalent to Jr. Ski Patrol test may be required
  • Letter of recommendation may also be required
  • Previous experience as Ski or Snowboard Competitive Athlete in an accredited program required
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited public or private school or GED program
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in a mountain environment with high exposure to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc
  • Ability to engage in high strenuous activity, including often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day, walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment

Responsibilities

  • Attend morning program safety and information meetings every day the program meets
  • Responsible for personal safety and the safety of program participants to include but not limited to the risks of skiing and riding the lifts
  • Reports directly to assigned program coach
  • Will never be independently “in charge” of any group, may be asked to assist coach in leading group in some situations
  • Helps program coach with daily tasks
  • Assists coach in keeping class of children organized and together
  • Assists coach with collecting and transporting team gear and equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining positive group dynamics
  • Have high standards for safety in all training environments
  • Assure that all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and stored
  • Provide positive feedback daily to participants if directed by the Head Coach/Supervisor
  • Effectively communicate with Head/Lead coach
  • Other duties as assigned
