Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in application support, preferably within the fintech industry. Proficiency in Linux environments, basic Linux commands, scripting languages, and SQL database queries is essential. Experience with log traversal tools like Sumologic or Kibana, ITSM platforms such as Jira or ServiceNow, and a strong understanding of production support models are required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, time management, and self-organization skills are also necessary. Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Redis, and automation is advantageous.
The Application Support Engineer will ensure maximum uptime for production systems, providing L1/L2 support for trading and data processing applications. This role involves managing incidents and requests, monitoring system alerts, performing initial diagnosis and fixes, and escalating issues as needed. The engineer will act as a major incident manager during critical events, coordinate efforts, and provide stakeholder updates. Responsibilities include performing system operations and administration, investigating and resolving production issues with internal users and external vendors, and communicating enhancement requirements to engineering teams. The role requires adherence to SLAs and OLAs, hands-on incident and change management, writing RCA reports, and maintaining knowledge base documentation.
