Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Commodity Manager, Repair Analyst, etc
  • Authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop and process analytic information
  • Ability to work under pressure in a Team environment
  • Preferred Requirements
  • Aircraft Systems and AIS Knowledge
  • Familiarity with finance, accounting and statistics
  • Applicable experience repairing off wing components and understanding of commercial requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assure parts and materials required for aircraft maintenance are available through stock transfers or procurements
  • Monitor inventory levels and transfer, expedite from repair, borrow, and/or purchase parts as needed to replenish supply
  • Make parts and materials available for fleet maintenance in a timely manner at the lowest achievable cost
  • Maintain documentation of all parts activity and operational statistics on station and aircraft performance
  • Create and present reports to upper management as necessary
  • Source and procure parts and materials for Line Maintenance and Heavy Check
  • Evaluate parts requests for accuracy, clarity, completeness (including part numbers, aircraft effectivity, documentation, deadlines) and respond timely
  • Procure parts beneficially: conduct inventory analysis, initiate stock transfers, expedite from repair, execute loans/borrows, or submit RFQs for purchase/core exchange
  • Submit RFQs using sourcing programs like AeroXchange or Parts-Base per SOX guidelines and expedite vendor results
  • Analyze vendor quotations for cost, tag age, part condition, lead time and select most efficient/cost-effective option
  • Generate inventory purchase orders
  • Perform logistical analysis for optimal shipment method (comail, FedEx, freight, international, courier)
  • Send transfer directives specifying shipping info, arrival times, packaging/documentation needs
  • Communicate part status, PO numbers, expected arrival times to requestors
  • Maintain Part Status documentation
  • Record transaction data in MS Access database and update/verify status
  • Manage open orders to ensure receipt into stock within agreed time frames
  • Track ordered components, update database timely, and expedite as needed
  • Follow-up on open orders for smooth purchasing process
  • Manage procurement of aircraft material, gather pricing for projects with supplier info and part clarification
  • Manage vendor performance for highest quality service at least cost
  • Measure vendor performance: develop KPIs, monitor stock availability, delivery, paperwork, warranty, responsiveness, bad parts
