Android Engineer

Position Overview

• Brief Description: HER is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join their team and contribute to the continued development and improvement of their flagship app. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining the Android app, working closely with the engineering team and product to deliver a delightful user experience. Requirements

• Experience: +5 years of experience in Android development.
• Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Android development best practices, including APIs, SDKs, and libraries.
• Languages: Expertise in Kotlin.
• Architectural Knowledge: Solid understanding of MVVM, coroutines, Flow, Clean Architecture, MVP, RxJava, XML views.
• Programming Principles: Knowledge of algorithms, memory management, object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, concurrency, and real-time communication.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills.
• Values: A passion for creating safe, inclusive spaces for sapphic users online.

Responsibilities

• App Development: Collaborate to design, build, release, and maintain the HER Android app.
• Feature Development: Develop new features from the ground up.
• Maintenance: Maintain and improve legacy parts of the application.
• Bug Resolution: Identify and resolve bugs and performance issues.
• Code Quality: Drive improvements in code quality, maintainability, tooling, and automation.
• Ownership: Take ownership of your work.

Desired/Nice-to-Have Skills

• DevOps: Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Cross-Platform: Experience with iOS (Swift) or Go.
• Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with tools like Graylog, ElasticSearch, DataDog, and gRPC.
