AI/Machine Learning Engineer

Position Overview

Wilcore Technologies, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) civic technology agency, is seeking an AI/Machine Learning Engineer to join a pivotal Federal program. This role is crucial in transforming the relationship between people and government through accessible citizen-centered design and digital services. Working in tandem with Oddball, we aim to revolutionize the digital landscape by crafting solutions that prioritize streamlined processes, anticipate user needs, and foster genuine connections, ultimately improving the daily lives of millions of Americans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models and AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver impactful AI-driven products.
  • Apply AI/ML expertise to solve meaningful challenges in federal programs, driving innovation in areas such as healthcare and veterans' services.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in software and machine learning engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) and transformer models.
    • Proficiency in Python.
    • Hands-on experience with ML libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers.
    • Proven experience building scalable, cloud-based AI/ML solutions.
    • Experience enhancing custom question answering mapping/workflows.
    • Expertise in the full ML pipeline, including data processing, model training, serving, and monitoring.
    • Knowledge of NLP architectural strategies such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Knowledge Graphs, and Agentic Graphs.
    • Expertise in MLOps best practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines tailored for ML workflows, model version control, and real-time performance monitoring.
  • Federal Experience (Plus): Familiarity with federal AI governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST AI RMF, FedRAMP).
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen and able to work domestically.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to attain a low-level security clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Other Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned.
