Position Overview

Podium is seeking a highly motivated and experienced AI Trainer - Automotive to join our AI – Auto team. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful adoption and utilization of Podium's AI solutions within automotive dealerships. You will be responsible for training frontline teams, coaching them on leveraging AI tools, and driving behavior changes that lead to increased customer retention and revenue.

Why This Role Exists

While corporate buy-in is important, the true success of AI adoption lies with the frontline teams on the showroom floor and in the service lane. This role is designed to bridge that gap by:

  • Selling the "Why" of AI: Effectively communicating the benefits of AI to skeptical frontline staff.
  • Coaching AI Leverage: Training teams to utilize AI tools like "Jerry" to perform like top-tier BDC representatives.
  • Cementing Adoption: Ensuring behaviors are established to protect Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and drive renewals for Podium's automotive clients.

Responsibilities

  • Travel: Approximately 90% travel to major dealership rooftops and enterprise customers (estimated 2-6 weeks post-onboarding).
  • Training Delivery: Conduct high-energy, in-person workshops designed to be engaging and impactful, akin to sales-force boot camps rather than standard software demos.
  • Role-Specific Training: Tailor training content and delivery to various roles, including General Managers, Internet Directors, Sales Managers, Service Advisors, and BDC agents.
  • Playbook Development: Build and continuously refine training materials such as playbooks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), videos, and quick-reference guides.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Customer Success and Onboarding teams to ensure seamless transitions and consistent messaging.
  • Feedback Capture: Gather on-the-ground feedback from users to inform product roadmap development and deployment methodologies.
  • Adoption Tracking: Monitor adoption rates, usage patterns, and Return on Investment (ROI) post-training. Escalate risks and propose interventions to ensure customer retention.

Requirements

  • Training Experience: Minimum of 3 years in frontline training, with a preference for experience coaching sales or BDC teams in automotive retail. Experience in other high-velocity sales environments is also valued.
  • Command-the-Room Presence: Ability to effectively manage and engage diverse audiences, read a showroom environment, conduct role-playing exercises, and influence change-resistant individuals.
  • Consultative & Data-Driven Approach: Skill in translating data from dashboards into actionable insights and compelling ROI stories that resonate with both operators and executives.
  • Relentless Ownership: A proactive approach to driving adoption metrics and ensuring customer success beyond the initial training session.
  • Road-Warrior Stamina: Comfort with spending 4+ days a week on-site, including potential evening or Saturday sessions to accommodate dealership schedules.
  • Automotive Acumen (Nice-to-Have): Familiarity with dealership DMS/CRM systems, BDC processes, and seasonal sales rhythms.
