Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanics (PhD in a similar field is a plus)
  • Minimum 10 years experience
  • Expertise in Transmission dedicated CAE tool (MASTA or equivalent)
  • Experience in CAD (NX or equivalent)
  • Experience in FEA for structural and NVH analysis (Abaqus or equivalent)
  • Experience in CFD/CHT (ANSYS Fluent or equivalent) or SPH (Particle Works or equivalent)
  • Experience in 1D (Simcenter Amesim or equivalent)
  • Experienced in automotive industry advanced product engineering, or BEV is a plus
  • Excellent English skills, mastery of a second language is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proven adaptability to new technical field and/or methodology
  • High interest for the system simulation field, experienced with MASTA and/or ANSYS FLUENT and/or Particle Works or equivalent
  • Passion for engineering with strong fundamentals in mechanics and fluid mechanics
  • Proven experience in both transmission design (bearing, gear, shaft) and lubrication circuitry design (pump, heat exchanger, filter)
  • Self-driven attitude with curiosity towards engineering next generation propulsion systems (E-Motors, Inverters, Transmission)
  • Experienced in system development for automotive (or industry equivalent) component serial production
  • Good knowledge in Hybrid and BEV architecture design
  • Fundamentals in vehicle drive components design
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Good understanding of the electric drive system targets from vehicle ecosystem point of view
  • Good written and oral skills to articulate complex engineering problems

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all transmission-related simulation activities (both Mechanical and Fluid Dynamics)
  • As a member of the global Technologies and Innovation team (T&I), propose innovative solutions for our iDM at ideation phase
  • Convert concepts into numerical proof of concept in the field of transmission for BEV for the next generation iDMs. Work with the T&I simulation team to build Digital Twins of iDM products
  • Drive test activities needed to correlate high-fidelity simulations
  • Responsible for accurately documented up-to-date transmission model library
  • Contribute to ensure keeping our system integration at the edge through internal and external benchmarking
  • Support engineering advanced teams to ensure projects are delivered timely and meet all standards, customer specific standards, and customer requirements
  • Assist and support immediate and indirect supervisors as requested
  • As part of our technological intelligence activities, attend and represent BorgWarner at European automotive symposiums
