Requirements

  • Bachelor’s college degree
  • 1-2 years regulatory experience in coaching, training, compliance documentation and tracking
  • Audit and adult beverage regulatory experience preferred
  • Retail experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Lead all required Associates through the process of obtaining the required seller permits and employee level licenses needed to legally sell adult beverage
  • Serve as a back up to the Regulatory Compliance Specialist with the responsibility to process fines and violations in a timely manner with efficiency, speed, corrective action, and cross-functional partnership
  • Research, document and track all associated AB compliance requirements for each store including local, state and federal jurisdictional compliance requirements
  • Responsible for daily management of employee licenses and training records including initial issuance, turnover, renewals, and both companywide and governing agency reporting
  • Conduct conference calls with field leadership to train them on existing and new regulations and coach them on how to improve compliance rates
  • Manage the payment and submission process for all seller permits and licenses with the field, key internal business partners at the SSC and external business partners including governing agencies
  • Partner with the Project Manager of Compliance Programs to lead IT initiatives and deployments to strengthen compliance programs and sales at the store level
  • Maintain company-wide reports, project trackers and employee training records to effectively manage compliance, training record documentation, and provide analysis for identifying trends to create and implement action plans with goal of improving compliance rates
  • Conduct alcohol audits and score performance based on pre-determined criteria and report audit findings to store team members
  • Work with store team members, field and corporate management to develop and implement long-term compliance strategies
  • Report audit findings, identify and report new legislation, legal issues and compliance issues to both field and corporate management
  • Mitigate, question, and review citations and violations prior to resolving with payment
  • Work with government agencies to obtain clarification on regulations and to reduce assessed fines upon occurrence
  • Escalate in-store problems to appropriate corporate team members so that issues are immediately addressed to prevent/eliminate fines, lost sales, vendor service issues and others as needed
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures and report suspected fraudulent activity to Loss Prevention
  • Other duties as assigned
