Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) eligibility
Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of dialysis procedures and patient care principles

Responsibilities

Performs ongoing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care
Documents patient data and adjusts treatment plans as needed
Provides initial and ongoing patient and family education
Recognizes and reports deviations from normal patient status
Directs and provides safe effective patient care
Assesses daily assigned patient care needs
Collaborates with direct and ancillary patient care staff
Communicates with Fresenius Kidney Care (FKC) and contracted facility personnel
Initiates and coordinates communication with FKC and Non-FKC dialysis providers
Administers and monitors intradialytic transfusions
Reports adverse reactions to physician and blood supplier
Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness
Initiates and assists with emergency response measures
Serves as a resource for the healthcare team
Participates in staff training and orientation
Provides specialized nursing care instruction to hospital/facility staff as assigned
Provides and coordinates clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients
Delegates tasks to other patient care staff
Participates in the kidney disease healthcare team
