Candidates must be licensed physicians (MD/DO) with at least 5 years of experience as a pediatric physician in a high-volume emergency department, inpatient, or urgent care setting. Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or general pediatrics with extensive pediatric emergency medicine practice experience is required, along with experience managing medically complex pediatric patients. Licensure in TX, FL, LA, MO, or GA is required, with willingness to obtain licenses in other markets, and an active DEA Controlled Substance Registration is necessary. Bilingual Spanish skills are strongly desired, and telehealth experience is a plus. Candidates should be independent self-starters, leaders, strategic thinkers, comfortable in a tech-heavy environment, and have experience working within an interdisciplinary team.
The Acute Care Pediatrician will provide virtual acute care services to patients and their caregivers, responding to acute care needs and triaging decisions for mobile field team dispatch. Responsibilities include collaborating with clinical and non-clinical care team members, fostering trusting relationships with families and communities, and providing integrated care. The role involves virtually meeting with patients, obtaining histories, assisting allied health personnel with physical exams, ordering tests and treatments, and providing follow-up. Pediatricians will oversee Advanced Practice Providers, serve as a virtual acute care attending, provide clinical guidance, and participate in on-call coverage for the 24/7 program.
