Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and an active Compact RN license in good standing, along with an active California Nursing License. A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience is required, with at least 2 years specifically in a pediatric behavioral health setting. Current CCM Certification is preferred. The role requires residing in a compact NLC state and willingness to obtain licenses in multiple states. Candidates must be comfortable managing a wide range of pediatric behavioral health conditions, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be technologically competent, and demonstrate success working in multidisciplinary teams. A deep understanding of cultural and socioeconomic factors influencing pediatric behavioral health, along with exceptional attention to detail and documentation quality, is also necessary. Familiarity with HIPAA and a commitment to patient privacy are essential.
The Pediatric Behavioral Health Nurse Care Manager will provide coordinated, family-centered virtual care management via phone to improve behavioral health outcomes for pediatric members. Responsibilities include developing personalized, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with families and the multidisciplinary team, supporting members through behavioral health treatment plans, transitions of care, and acute behavioral health crises. The role involves helping families navigate behavioral health systems, treatment options, benefits, and community resources. Additionally, the nurse will partner with pediatricians, behavioral health specialists, schools, and other care team members to ensure aligned, coordinated care, and provide compassionate, longitudinal support through continuous engagement and advocacy. Coordinating resources to address clinical, behavioral, and social determinants of health impacting children and families is also a key responsibility.
