Candidates must be licensed physicians (MD/DO) and Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or a Board-Certified General Pediatrician with extensive experience in Pediatric Emergency Medicine practice. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a pediatric physician in a high-volume emergency department, inpatient, or urgent care setting is required, along with experience managing medically complex pediatric patients. Bilingual Spanish skills are strongly desired, and telehealth experience is a plus. Licensure in at least one of the following states (TX, FL, LA, MO, GA) is required, with willingness to obtain licenses in all other markets. An active DEA Controlled Substance Registration or eligibility for application is necessary, along with maintenance of professional credentialing and CME standards. Candidates should be passionate about innovative technology in healthcare, tackling healthcare inequity, working in interdisciplinary teams, and comfortable in a tech-heavy environment.
The Acute Care Pediatrician will provide full-time virtual acute care services, responding to inbound acute care needs and triaging patients for mobile field team dispatch. Responsibilities include collaborating with clinical and non-clinical care team members, fostering trusting relationships with patients and families, and virtually assisting allied health personnel during home visits by obtaining history, guiding physical exams, ordering tests, and providing follow-up. The role involves overseeing Advanced Practice Providers, serving as a virtual acute care attending, providing clinical guidance, and participating in on-call coverage for the 24/7 program.
