  • Elevate Analytics Stack: Automate workflows, enhance documentation, and promote best practices across tools such as Google Sheets/Excel, Looker, BigQuery, and dbt.
  • Co-engineer Predictive Models: Collaborate daily with senior actuaries and data scientists to build, validate, and refine financial models that support strategic decision-making.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Impact: Partner with the Commercial team and the broader Advanced Analytics & AI team on projects to streamline processes and scale insights.
  • Serve as Analytics "Help Desk": Address incoming stakeholder and client inquiries related to data and models.
  • Client-Facing SME: Within six months, present findings and answer actuarial and analytics questions on client calls, extending your influence externally.

Within your first 90 days at Virta, you are expected to:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Virta Health's product offerings and associated performance guarantees.
  • Conduct a deep dive into existing reporting templates and data pipelines.
  • Shadow the Staff Actuary to grasp modeling assumptions.
  • Take ownership of producing specific standardized customer reports.
  • Lead a claims analysis from end-to-end, presenting findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Document learnings and contribute to the team's knowledge base.
  • Begin shadowing client calls to prepare for external-facing responsibilities.
