Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience at the Accounting Manager level
  • Public accounting experience required
  • Proficiency in NetSuite accounting software required; prior system implementation experience strongly preferred
  • CPA certification highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Highly motivated with a “can-do” attitude and commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of a new accounting system (NetSuite) and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Serve as a key liaison between accounting, finance, and executive leadership
  • Perform all aspects of month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Process and account for cash receipts and disbursements
  • Conduct cost analyses and variance reviews, investigating and reporting irregularities to management
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Prepare and file state and local tax returns; support audits and respond to tax inquiries as needed
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies or unusual items
  • Support the annual external audit by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements and accounting best practices
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, financial analyses, and process improvement initiatives
