Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally a public accounting and private industry mix
  • CPA desired
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external service providers and cross functional relationships
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a passion for working in a mission-driven organization
  • Biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and advanced Excel and Google Suite of products (Sheets, Docs) is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close process, preparing journal entries, balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
  • Work on prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrual liabilities, and flux analysis
  • Ensure all financial data is in compliance with the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Plan and design business processes and objectives and make recommendations and changes in order to improve and support scalability in the team organization, business systems and activities
  • Collaborate and coordinate with various business partners to obtain required financial reporting information and develop improvements to the financial reporting process
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audit readiness, and financial reporting standards
  • Manage a third party accounting firm supporting day to day accounting operations including reviewing and approving invoices entered by AP contractor and correct GL/Dept/Class coding as appropriate
  • Able to deliver results in a fast-paced work environment
