Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse activities during assigned shift(s) for efficient, profitable distribution center operations and compliance with safety/regulatory programs
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee receiving, storing, selecting, loading, space/equipment/staffing utilization cost-effectively
  • Analyze operational issues for root causes and recommend efficiency improvements
  • Forecast workload, plan recruitment, assist with scheduling to meet business needs/goals
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations for associates/contractors
  • Oversee distribution procedures (training, safety, maintenance, security) for cost-effectiveness, quality, process improvements, associate satisfaction
  • Communicate with customers, leaders, transportation to achieve high service levels, resolve issues, drive improvements in production, loading/unloading
  • Ensure health, safety, cleanliness, security of work environment; collaborate with maintenance on facility/equipment condition
  • Promote safety/security awareness, report/address injuries/issues, ensure efficient equipment procedures
  • Administer labor agreement; manage salvage of damaged/used materials; assist with budgeting warehouse/reclamation operations
  • Support communication on damage, safety, energy via pre-shift meetings, written/one-on-one interactions
  • Manage department: staffing, training, performance management, career development, goal monitoring
  • Work with Distribution Management to prepare/monitor operating, labor, capital budgets
