Requirements

Knowledge of industrial maintenance to repair, modify, or make new parts for mechanical equipment, including visual and audible analysis and ability to distinguish color-coded wiring
Ability to use 250 amp electrical welding device with periods of concentration in a laundry plant environment (exposure to lint, high temperatures, cold weather)
Skilled in mechanical/electrical work to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, repair, modify, and install machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings
Capability to perform plumbing, carpentry, welding, or electrical tasks as applicable
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electronic problems quickly and accurately with a sense of urgency
Comfortable working in an automated commercial laundry facility on 3rd shift

Responsibilities

Perform all repairs, adjustments, overhauls, or preventive maintenance on laundry or boiler room equipment
Dismantle defective machines and equipment, replace defective parts and motors, and adjust feed mechanisms
Operate machinery and equipment to test, visually inspect, and listen for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions and determine cause/extent of failures
Accurately complete morning startup procedures for the plant; maintain and complete proper log and work orders
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery using appropriate tools
Install, align, tension, and maintain chain and sprocket drives, gear drives, belt drives, flexible couplings, pillow block bearings, shaft assemblies, brake assemblies, and pulleys
