Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience as an experienced Industrial Production Mechanic (food production a plus)
  • Complete working knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals
  • Experience working safely with electricity, including single and 3-phase circuits and 480V
  • Ability to use standard testing equipment, tools, and fabricate metal to an acceptable level
  • Ability to use lathes, mills, bandsaw, drill press, etc., to repair or fabricate parts
  • Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift, overtime, and weekends as required
  • Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other appropriate equipment

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support to plant and facility operations in a safe manner, complying with USDA, OSHA, FDA, EPA, SQF, and local regulations
  • Maintain, adjust, and repair plant machinery to industry standards
  • Install and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment (e.g., conveyors, formers, case erectors, wrappers, x-ray units, metal detectors, mixers, industrial ovens)
  • Follow work instructions, OSHA safety rules, LOTO, GMP, and food safety practices, using PPE and safety equipment
  • Diagnose problems, replace/repair parts, detect defective items, test, and make final adjustments on high-speed production equipment
  • Maintain equipment per diagrams, manufacturer's specifications, preventative maintenance, work orders, and scheduled PMs in a CMMS program
  • Maintain clean and efficient parts inventory, notifying of stock depletion for reorder in CMMS
  • Complete PMs efficiently and thoroughly
  • Maintain current GMP, SQF, and food safety practices
  • Other duties as assigned
