Requirements

Associate degree in engineering from an accredited institution in mechanical, electrical, or test engineering
Experience in a test lab environment
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, test procedures, and ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Hands-on experience operating and setting up mechanical and hydraulic machinery and lab equipment
Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on test data
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and potentially specialized software for data collection and automation (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks)
Ability to clearly communicate technical information to engineers and other team members
Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues during testing

Responsibilities

Conduct various tests on materials, components, and complete mechanical systems using specialized equipment
Design, build, and modify fixtures to automate testing and ensure proper function of test setups
Collect, record, and analyze test data, identifying trends and deviations from specifications
Work with engineers to diagnose issues, develop resolutions, and improve test procedures and product designs
Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring its accuracy and readiness for use
Document test procedures, results, reports, and any issues encountered, communicating findings to the engineering team
Other duties as assigned
