Requirements

  • Associate degree in engineering from an accredited institution in mechanical, electrical, or test engineering
  • Experience in a test lab environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, test procedures, and ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Hands-on experience operating and setting up mechanical and hydraulic machinery and lab equipment
  • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on test data
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and potentially specialized software for data collection and automation (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks)
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to engineers and other team members
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues during testing

Responsibilities

  • Conduct various tests on materials, components, and complete mechanical systems using specialized equipment
  • Design, build, and modify fixtures to automate testing and ensure proper function of test setups
  • Collect, record, and analyze test data, identifying trends and deviations from specifications
  • Work with engineers to diagnose issues, develop resolutions, and improve test procedures and product designs
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring its accuracy and readiness for use
  • Document test procedures, results, reports, and any issues encountered, communicating findings to the engineering team
  • Other duties as assigned
