Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline. An active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI post-hire is required, along with a DoD 8570 Certification (Security+ or higher). Strong experience in Microsoft Windows Server and Windows administration, coupled with hands-on Citrix administration experience, is essential. Familiarity with cloud, SOA, and virtualization environments, AWS technologies (EC2, S3 Buckets, Reserved Instances, etc.), systems engineering and sustainment best practices, and version control systems like Git/GitLab are necessary. Proficiency in documentation, including VDDs, diagrams, and SOPs, and familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence are also required. Preferred qualifications include prior experience supporting geospatial products or programs, Citrix certifications, AWS certifications, and SAFe Agile certification.

Responsibilities

The Windows System Engineer will take a leadership role in driving system changes, enhancements, and long-term improvements. Responsibilities include working closely with government and contractor stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, and proactively recommending and implementing configuration changes to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability. The role involves deploying security patches, hotfixes, and updates across test and production environments, and maintaining and updating critical system databases. Developing, documenting, and updating operational and security SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical diagrams is also a key duty. Ensuring the stability of mission-critical systems through monitoring, incident response, and remediation activities is paramount.
