Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or similar technical discipline, and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience
  • Preferred: Direct experience developing and deploying wet etch processes in a wafer fab
  • Preferred: Direct manufacturing experience with wafer fab based processes, microelectromechanical systems, or similar work experience
  • Preferred: Strong verbal and written communications skills; demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-linked technical work environment
  • Ability to be independently mobile, interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers (for office roles)

Responsibilities

  • Sustain wafer fab wet etch, wet cleans, and plasma processes for the Wafer and Sensor Operations released product portfolio (implantable cardiac monitors and hybrid components for pacemakers and defibrillators)
  • Lead and participate in defect reduction and yield improvement efforts
  • Promote and drive safety in the manufacturing process
  • Provide technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area
  • Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards and improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, and production yields for existing products
  • Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module target specifications and technology target specifications
  • Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules
  • Interact with product design and development personnel to ensure that processes and designs are compatible
  • Develop and conduct statistical analysis or recommend additions to document work
  • Lead the innovation, development, and/or optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes, and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations (including scouting and feasibility work, material selection, process and equipment selection, tooling/fixture and equipment installation, and assessment of inputs, outputs, and alignment to requirements)
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques including the measurement systems
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
