Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years’ operations leadership experience in a high-volume warehouse/distribution center environment
  • Experience with automation/robotic systems is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of managing performance metrics, labor management, continuous improvement, and safety
  • Experience working with large teams (100+ employees) across multiple shifts is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills; the ability to motivate, coach and develop talent
  • Analytical mindset: able to interpret data, identify trends, and drive decisions
  • Lean/Kaizen mindset; comfortable leading change and process improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to react quickly to operational issues, and escalation
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP, and automated equipment controls
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration; able to interact with operations staff, technology teams, customers and senior leadership
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools
  • Travel could be up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations: dock movements, yard functions, inbound and outbound trailer moves, carrier needs, live vs drop load prioritization, pre-receiving planning, shipping, returns, value-added services
  • Ensure safe, compliant operations: enforce safety policies, lead safety meetings, conduct audits, and drive corrective actions
  • Manage labor/resource planning: staffing, shift scheduling, overtime control, productivity monitoring
  • Drive performance metrics: overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), on-time shipping, inventory accuracy, order-cycle time, shrinkage, cost per unit, etc
  • Partner with automation/technology teams: integrate robotics/AI tools into workflows, monitor system uptime, troubleshoot operational issues
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives: identify waste, implement lean practices, standardize work, conduct root-cause analysis
  • Develop, coach and mentor supervisors and leads: set goals, conduct performance reviews, foster engagement and retention
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: maintenance, IT, safety, HR, customer service and supply-chain teams to align operations with customer needs and corporate goals
  • Maintain operational budget and cost controls: labor, equipment, utilities, and consumables
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, environmental, etc.)
  • Prepare and present reports to senior leadership: KPI dashboards, trend analyses, and improvement plans
