Candidates should possess 5–10 years of experience in digital video, broadcast production, or documentaries, ideally within a news organization, production company, or creative agency, with strong experience in both camera operation and video editing. Expert knowledge of editing software, specifically Adobe Premiere Pro, is required, and proficiency in After Effects and Photoshop is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in story structure, visual pacing, and sound design is essential, along with comfort working independently with producers to craft engaging stories and experience shooting on professional cameras like Canon, Sony, or RED. A deep understanding of motion graphics and the ability to integrate basic graphic elements into edits is also needed, alongside strong collaboration skills with producers, editors, and designers throughout the production lifecycle.
The Video Editor / Videographer / Video Producer will edit high-quality video content with a strong narrative arc, incorporating sophisticated pacing, rhythm, and sound design, while collaborating closely with producers and shooters to brainstorm story ideas and filming strategies. They will independently own projects from ideation through delivery, with a clear vision for story and audience engagement, applying basic motion graphics and visual treatments to enhance storytelling and brand consistency. The role also requires ensuring all content meets platform-specific standards across digital and broadcast formats, managing post-production workflows, including media ingest, asset management, and color correction, and shooting original video content using a cinematic and intentional approach to composition, lighting, and camera movement.
