Requirements

Candidates must be proficient in anesthesia monitoring and possess a strong background in veterinary medicine. Veterinary Technicians at GSVS can expect to oversee appointments and manage clients throughout their visit, participate with the Oncologist’s in-patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, and provide both injectable chemotherapy and radiation therapy depending on patient diagnosis. Furthermore, candidates should have experience with radioactive iodine treatment for feline hyperthyroid disease, and ideally hold a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification in Internal Medicine or Cardiology.

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Technician in Radiation Oncology, the role involves overseeing appointments and managing clients during their visits, collaborating with the Oncologist on patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, administering injectable chemotherapy and radiation therapy based on patient needs, and obtaining and processing laboratory samples.
