Interest in clinical veterinary medicine, preventative medicine, and/or research
Enrolled in a veterinary program during the Spring term preceding internship
At least 18 years of age
Authorized to work in the U.S
Successfully pass a background check and drug screen
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills

Work on a clinical or scientific research project with a presentation at the end of the internship
Collect, enter, verify, and analyze data from animal welfare-specific studies
Assist the veterinary team with medical cases (treatments and follow-up)
Assist with data entry and trending for process improvement projects
May assist with basic care and enrichment needs
Participate in animal handling, clinical study design, animal dosing/sample collection techniques, standard equipment, husbandry, and care of animals
Learn about regulations involved with using animals in research (e.g., Animal Welfare Act, IACUC, CFR part 9), with a focus on industry specifics
