Requirements

1 year of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 6 or more months working outdoors
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Upon hire, complete and pass all Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training
Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as a team
Exceptional flexibility in scheduling
Adequate time management skills to work in a timely manner
Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with management and customers
Ability to interact with unhappy or negative customers in a professional manner
Excellent attention to detail for problem solving and finding
Ability to walk long distances and prepare for weather conditions
Drug/alcohol testing required per Non-Regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

Survey gas leaks by walking from site to site
Follow sketches and diagrams to identify gas line locations
Utilize a Remote Methane Leak Detector (RLMD) or similar device to detect natural gas leaks
Perform visual inspections of gas meters, lines, and fittings
Grade gas leaks by level of severity and report/escalate accordingly
Follow strict Utility, State, and Federal guidelines relating to surveying, grading, and reporting gas leaks
Collect data using handheld computer or other collection device
Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures
Complete assigned routes and work orders on the assigned date
Extensively walk and stand for much of the workday in various weather conditions
Exert physical force moving objects (routinely 10lbs of force, up to occasional 50lbs of force)
Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities
Provide timely reports and documentation to management per procedures
Provide general information about services to customers, when applicable
Use telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicate
Participate in safety meetings
Show courtesy and professionalism when dealing with customers and other employees
Other duties as assigned
