Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy that supports Walmart’s Health & Wellness priorities, spanning pharmacy, optical, clinical services, medical affairs, the Research Institute, and digital health
  • Define and elevate Walmart’s position as a leader in accessible, affordable care through compelling storytelling and thought leadership
  • Partner closely with corporate communications and senior business leadership to ensure Health & Wellness communications are aligned with enterprise priorities and brand strategy
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Health & Wellness and Walmart’s Corporate Affairs leadership team
  • Provide strategic counsel on brand reputation, messaging, and issues management
  • Anticipate emerging opportunities and risks in the health space and guide communications accordingly
  • Lead proactive storytelling that showcases Walmart’s impact in advancing health equity and innovation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with health, business, and consumer media outlets
  • Oversee narrative development, earned media strategies, and executive visibility programs that reinforce Walmart’s leadership in health and wellness
  • Work cross-functionally with Corporate Affairs, Marketing, Public Policy, Government Relations, and business units to deliver coordinated, consistent messaging
  • Integrate Health & Wellness storytelling into Walmart’s broader enterprise narrative to drive understanding and engagement across audiences
  • Anticipate and manage communications around complex or sensitive healthcare issues
  • Partner with Legal, Operations, and Public Policy to protect and enhance Walmart’s reputation and maintain trust with customers, associates, and stakeholders
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing Health & Wellness communications team
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability, balancing strategic vision with operational excellence
  • Leverage digital storytelling, AI tools, and emerging platforms to reach audiences in new and engaging ways
  • Use data, insights, and digital analytics to evaluate impact, optimize performance, and continuously improve communications effectiveness
