Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory (e.g., pharmaceuticals, supplies) through adherence to control procedures, documentation, auditing, testing, process audits, corrective actions, database management, troubleshooting, hazardous waste disposal, recall/expired processing
  • Enter prescription data into pharmacy software, including translating information, transcribing details (e.g., drug name, strength, directions, prescriber info), and creating/modifying patient records
  • Promote pharmacy's professional reputation and deliver products/services in compliance with laws and policies by assisting in prescription fulfillment, stocking/rotating merchandise, handling claims/returns, completing/securing paperwork, and maintaining a safe/clean environment
  • Comply with Medicare/Medicaid by implementing/adhering to rules, staying updated on changes, researching for accurate processing, and documenting audits
  • Fulfill Home Delivery/Specialty pharmacy prescriptions by selecting products/quantities, verifying size/strength, counting/measuring/weighing/mixing medications, entering expiration/lot numbers, labeling, packaging, and distributing
  • Monitor and resolve prescription fulfillment issues (e.g., systems, insurance, stock) by determining root causes, coordinating resolutions, reprocessing claims, alerting patients, and escalating to pharmacists/IT as needed
  • Embrace differences, foster belonging, create opportunities for associates, build team relationships, communicate positively, mentor/develop others, and recognize contributions
