Extensive experience in planning transmission lines and substation facilities in an electric power system
Mastery of subject matter in transmission planning
Strong technical skills in the design of the electric power system
Ability to represent the company on regional and national transmission committees (e.g., NEPOOL, NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE, RTOs)
Familiarity with planning standards (e.g., NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE) and software packages (e.g., PSS/E, TARA, ASPEN)
Power systems engineering background with collaborative, innovative mindset and good communication skills
Ability to work as project leader and in a highly effective team
Responsibilities
Collaborate, perform, and lead reliability and/or economic driven studies including voltage, thermal, transfer limit, short circuit, and stability assessments
Analyze and assess complex transmission systems at numerous voltage levels; document and communicate results and recommendations including data manipulation, report writing, and summary presentations
Continually innovate and integrate improvements to increase precision and efficiency of transmission planning; develop subject matter expert skills to mentor and support the team
Represent Eversource and interact with internal teams and industry peers on regional activities (e.g., NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE)
Develop and apply understanding of planning criteria, guidelines, standards (e.g., NERC, NPCC), and analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, TARA, ASPEN)
Employ teamwork with engineers in System Planning, Transmission Asset Strategy, and other related disciplines
