Currently enrolled in a Diesel Technology program
Tools required (see attached)
3 months of continuous work history with a single employer in the last 6 months
High School Diploma or GED
Current valid driver’s license
Ability to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and schematics
Basic math skills
Basic computer skills to document information, process daily work orders, and complete required documentation
Prior Tyson team members must not have worked 3 times or more for Tyson; eligible for rehire after 180-day waiting period
By end of internship, proficiency in: standard preventive maintenance (PM1s, PM2s for trucks or trailers), Brake Inspector Certification, Wheel end class/certification, Basic Electrical, Identify fault codes (graded and signed off by Shop Manager/Supervisor, Lead, and two senior technicians for ME02 advancement)

Responsibilities

Perform routine preventive maintenance repairs on trailers
Perform emergency mechanical or electrical repairs on trailers
Diagnose and repair brake and wheel end failures on trailers
Perform minor structural welding and cutting tasks
Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned equipment
Effectively communicate with transportation personnel including managers, drivers, and clerks
Perform service calls on equipment at remote locations
