Requirements

Knowledge of the markets, issues, regulations, practices and operations of international trade; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Analytical ability with proven track record of continuous process improvement activities
Ability to simplify, translate and communicate complex concepts
Understanding of risk management and controls environment
Familiarity with Caterpillar Business Units and operations
Strong understanding of international supply chain, both physical flow and data flow, freight forwarders, and Customs brokers
Power BI knowledge
Data relationships and analytics
Trade compliance certification such as Licensed Customs Broker, Certified Customs Specialist, Certified Export Specialist, etc

Responsibilities

Managing Customs compliance activity to ensure Caterpillar parts and product flow across international borders in compliance with Customs regulatory requirements specifically pertaining to the application of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and HTS processes
Helping ensure Customs compliance requirements are met for Caterpillar through risk management and controls environment
Using a data focused approach to help ensure operational processes are adaptable and scalable for a constantly evolving global trade landscape
