Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5-9 years of experience in the Aerospace Industry or related field, or equivalent in training, education, and experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Unigraphics NX and/or CATIA V5 CAD Software
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, using ingenuity and creativity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Works well under general supervision

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates requirements to develop tool concepts
  • Develops complex tool and equipment specifications
  • Assists in the development of complex tool and equipment concepts and alternatives
  • Manipulates data sets such as conceptual tool design models and deliverable designs
  • Creates and modifies tool designs
  • Develops and implements alternative methods and interim solutions for damaged or unsafe tools and equipment to meet functional requirements
  • Participates in tool/equipment try-outs to ensure requirements have been satisfied
  • Evaluates and develops/revises preventative maintenance requirements for tools
  • Responds to requests for review and evaluates ability to produce proposed design with respect to forming, machining, and finishing by using in-house or supplier provided processes to support customer specifications
  • Assists in determining methodology for assembly of components and evaluates part-features required to support the proposed product
  • Investigates, develops, and verifies feasibility of tool concepts
  • Incorporates safety, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements in tool designs
  • Performs other duties as required
