Candidates must have at least 3 years of U.S. payroll tax experience for a large multi-state employer. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience, is required. Advanced Excel skills, including V-Lookup and Pivot Tables, are necessary. The ability to operate independently with little oversight, prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality are also essential.
The Temporary Payroll Tax Accountant will audit and reconcile approximately 200 federal, state, and local payroll tax filings for five U.S. entities from CY2020 to present, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role involves researching all identified variances, resolving tax notices, and filing amendments directly with agencies. The accountant will also maintain accurate and organized documentation of all audits and research performed.
