Requirements

  • Skills and responsibilities of a standard Pharmacy Technician
  • Ability to oversee safe and secure operation of a Remote Dispensing Pharmacy, including serving as keyholder and managing alarm/safe codes
  • Knowledge of inventory management, including controlled substances, ordering, cycle counts, returns, refrigerator organization, and temperature logging
  • Capability to review Inventory Excellence Report and partner with team for improvements
  • Proficiency in handling operational communications (e.g., email, myWork tasks)
  • Understanding of WeCARE workflow best practices, customer service, and patient care
  • Growth mindset to support business outcomes, inspire team, and embrace change
  • Experience or ability to mentor and train new hires in Telepharmacy
  • Clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge for assisting customers, including basic drug understanding
  • In-depth knowledge of CVS workflow procedures and quality assurance standards across workstations (Pick-Up, Drop-Off, Drive-Thru, Production)
  • Ability to communicate with patients, co-workers, insurance companies, and prescribers where allowed by law
  • Skills for face-to-face patient interaction, including collecting medical history to update patient profiles
  • As allowable in applicable states, certification and training for expanded responsibilities like administering vaccinations

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily operations of the Telepharmacy Remote Dispensing Pharmacy under Pharmacist oversight from a Supervising Pharmacy
  • Manage safe and secure operation, including protecting pharmacy products, with focus on refrigerated items and controlled substances
  • Oversee pharmacy inventory management: review orders, check in products, perform cycle counts, maintain perpetual inventory, execute ordering, returns-to-stock, one-by-one returns/outdates, refrigerator organization, temperature logging, and waiting bin management
  • Conduct monthly review of Inventory Excellence Report and collaborate with Telepharmacy team to improve inventory practices
  • Serve as point person for annual inventories, resets (e.g., Rx Planograms), and pharmacy-related AP Pulse Checks
  • Receive and act on operational communications, completing required tasks (e.g., email, myWork)
  • Improve total store service foundations through outstanding performance in WeCARE workflows, customer service, and patient care
  • Demonstrate growth mindset, inspire/motivate store team to embrace change, workflow enhancements, and new products/services
  • Mentor and support onboarding, training, and development of new Telepharmacy hires
  • Provide excellent customer service: expand knowledge using tools/training to assist customers effectively
  • Fulfill prescriptions: follow CVS workflows and QA standards, manage workstations, shift to help team as needed
  • Communicate with patients, co-workers, insurance companies, and prescribers where allowed
  • Engage in face-to-face patient interactions: collect and update medical history in patient profiles
  • As allowable in applicable states and with certification/training, administer vaccinations and expand clinical/managerial responsibilities
