  • Writing experience in a scientific environment or the life sciences industry
  • Experience leading multiple projects or work streams and setting schedules and priorities
  • Experience with topic-based authoring using DITA preferred
  • Experience with XML authoring tools preferred
  • Experience with HTML and CSS markup languages a plus
  • Able to write clearly, concisely, accurately, and quickly
  • Able to organize information logically and think critically
  • Deep understanding of technical/scientific content

Responsibilities

  • Create technical end-user documentation to support products related to genetic analysis, biomarker discovery, predictive genomics, reproductive health, pathogen detection, disease-specific solutions, forensics, and human identification
  • Assemble information from research scientists, product managers, hardware and software engineers, regulatory analysts, and other business team members
  • Collaborate with a fun and agile team to continuously move projects along tight timelines
  • Participate in sprint planning, setup, and retrospectives
  • Organize content into topics and publications following DITA standards and department information models
  • Estimate and schedule large documentation projects
  • Actively solicit input from product teams and participate in project team meetings
  • Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously
  • Learn and use an XML-based authoring tool and content management system. You may also work with additional authoring tools as needed
  • Follow all process, style, and brand guidelines
  • Lead special projects in the department as needed
