Requirements

  • 3+ years as a Technical Artist or similar position on shipped mobile games
  • Unity experience, including asset implementation & UI assembly for 2D and 3D assets (you don’t need a developer to integrate your assets)
  • Basic knowledge of shaders and materials in Unity
  • Understanding of mobile game constraints (performance, memory, draw calls, batching)
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and texturing workflows (Photoshop, Substance, and experience with Maya, including MEL scripting and tooling)
  • Ability to debug and optimize art assets and rendering issues

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with game designers, artists, and developers to develop the creative vision and bring it to life while maintaining technical efficiency
  • Bring artistic excellence by designing and delivering final assets that plug directly into Unity
  • Optimize game assets, shaders, and rendering pipelines for smooth performance on mobile devices
  • Develop tools and scripts in Unity to streamline the workflow for artists and developers
  • Ensure asset optimization (compression, polygon count, texture sizes) & optimal import into Unity without sacrificing quality
  • Explore new techniques and workflows to unlock the art team’s full potential
