Requirements

Candidates should have 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on revenue recognition and audit preparation, ideally in a fast-paced SaaS or tech environment. A CPA with a public accounting background (Big 4 preferred) is required, along with a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 718. Experience drafting technical memos and accounting policies, leading or supporting first-time audits, and implementing accounting systems or processes is essential. Proficiency with revenue recognition tools such as NetSuite ARM or Zuora RevPro is expected, with bonus points for experience with usage-based or hybrid SaaS models and B2B revenue streams. The ideal candidate is independent and proactive, possessing strong project leadership, adaptability to ambiguity, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

The Technical Accounting Manager will establish and enhance financial reporting and compliance foundations, leading technical accounting and the first financial audit. This role involves evaluating and interpreting contracts for ASC 606 compliance, preparing revenue checklists, journal entries, and technical memos. Responsibilities also include streamlining and enhancing revenue and billing system logic, partnering on deal desk strategy with Legal, Operations, and Sales to assess revenue implications of complex deals, and overseeing accounting policies across revenue and SBC. The manager will also lead special projects to support the scaling of the finance function.
