Candidates must have over 8 years of experience in Python with a focus on data, and over 3 years of experience in Life Sciences or with scientific data. A minimum of 3 years of experience managing multiple simultaneous projects is required, along with proven experience leading and coordinating engineering teams across diverse projects. Expertise in SQL, RDS, and associated technologies is essential, as are excellent communication and technical writing skills. Experience with data plotting/dashboarding tools and cloud infrastructure providers is a plus.
The Team Lead will guide field development and product direction for automating lab workflows and unlocking the value of scientific data. They will coordinate forward-deployed engineers to rapidly deliver scientific workflow automation using Tetra products, and support pre-sales in designing and scoping technical projects. This role involves managing the agile development process, including standups, planning, refinement, and delivery meetings, as well as managing people and projects, identifying and clearing blockers, and ensuring team velocity. The Team Lead will drive successful delivery by enabling engineers to focus on technology while leading coordination, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment. They will deliver complex, high-quality client projects quickly, provide product feedback, and help engineers turn projects into core product improvements. Additionally, they will self-start and make progress in the face of ambiguity, work with a geographically dispersed team across time zones, speak up and represent their position, remain resilient and open to feedback, and mentor engineers towards leadership and grow the team's capabilities.
